Parts support
A clear process for ordering replacement vinyl, marks and fitting components on South African retail sites, written for crews who already know the install environment.
How the parts desk works in a live retail week
Our Parts Desk handles replacement items for existing retail graphics jobs. Use it to request vinyl, brand marks or fitting components needed to complete or refresh a shopfront installation.
List the branch, the item needed, and what failed on site. A sun-brittle window strip in Durban is not the same request as a cracked stand-off cap in Gauteng. Include whether the replacement is for glass, fascia, ACM, or an existing frame so the parts desk can match the right stock type.
A wide photo of the full shopfront helps the parts desk match scale, colour placement and fixing points before any replacement is cut. Add one close shot of the damaged section, plus any old code on the vinyl, mark or bracket. That record is useful when a fascia panel has faded in the sun or when the original item came from an older retail rollout.
Replacement items for active sites
The parts desk is used for reprints, replacement brand marks, and fitting pieces tied to existing retail graphics work. That can include cut vinyl, printed panels, stand-offs, spacers, sleeves, tapes, or other small components needed to finish a branch correctly. Ask for the exact item in use rather than a general remake request.
Check the last approved artwork and branch naming before ordering extra pieces. Mismatched finish, scale, or fixings can hold up an otherwise simple replacement. Vinyl and shopfront jobs are measured from the board size and a straight-on shot of the shopfront.

Site conditions that affect replacements
Retail sites differ widely between malls, roadside strips, and older high street buildings. A replacement panel for a Cape Town seafront branch may need different finishing notes from one going to a dry inland centre. Mention access limits, trading hours, and whether the original pack is still partly installed.
Salt air can shorten the life of some fittings and edge finishes near the coast. Dusty inland sites often need extra surface prep before fresh vinyl is applied. Loadshedding also affects when print, packing, and installation checks can happen around a trading centre.

Information needed by the parts desk
Send site photos, measured sizes, quantities, and a short note on what is missing, damaged, or outdated. Include the branch or project name exactly as the job is recorded. Where possible, state whether the item is a direct replacement or part of a partial refresh.
Keep the request with the job record so the replacement item can be traced against the original supply. This is useful when buyers need to confirm what material, finish, or fitting set was used on that branch. A simple record also helps separate one-off breakages from wider rollout updates.
