Sticker Run specs

Setup notes and briefing numbers for Sticker Run.

Artwork setup before print approval

Sticker Run specs cover artwork setup, size, finish, adhesive choice, and quantity planning for printed sticker orders. Confirm what the run needs before it goes to print.

Send sticker artwork at final size where possible, with cut lines on a separate layer and fonts converted to outlines. Include the intended surface such as glass, ABS plastic, painted metal, or corrugated packaging, because adhesive choice changes with the substrate. For outdoor use in Gauteng, Durban, or Cape Town, note whether the job needs UV lamination, writable stock, or a removable glue.

A proper spec sheet should show width, height, quantity per version, finish, and whether the print is contour cut, kiss cut, or supplied on sheets. Add any barcode, serial number, or batch reference that must stay readable after lamination. This avoids mixed packs when one run contains promo labels, window decals, and till-point stickers.

Checks that prevent print waste

Confirm bleed, safe area, and colour build before the file is released to print. Small text on labels and price-point stickers needs a quick legibility check, especially when white ink, clear media, or reverse application is involved. One approved size set is better than near-matching versions that create packing errors.

If the job ties into existing store branding, reference the matching names used under Graphics, Shopfronts, and Mark notes so the run stays consistent across counters, windows, and take-away packaging. Use the contact form to send final dimensions, material preference, and one visual of the application area. Where several sticker types are ordered together, list each version separately with its own quantity and finish.

Material choices for SA conditions

Durban humidity, Cape coastal air, and Highveld sun all affect stock selection for printed stickers. Permanent vinyl suits many shopfront and product uses, while removable adhesive is safer for short campaigns on glass or painted panels. If labels will face fridges, heat, or regular wipe-downs, say that upfront in the spec.

Dust on site and uneven paint can reduce bond strength, even when the print itself is correct. For couriered runs going to smaller centres, note how packs must be counted and bundled so installers do not open every sheet at the counter. Where power cuts disrupt installation planning, keep application dates separate from print quantities on the brief.

Information to include on the brief

State the use first: product labelling, window promo, shelf edge, box seal, or branded handout sticker. Then add size, quantity, finish, adhesive type, and whether the artwork must print CMYK only or include white. Mention anything that failed before, such as edge lift, fading, or glue residue.

Keep this spec sheet with the job card while dimensions and finish choices are current. It helps when the buyer checks print approval, adhesive selection, or whether the sticker set is for indoor glass, product labels, or short-term promo use.
